Bible in One Year

I have a confession to make: I am really bad at having a quiet time and reading the Bible everyday. This year, I decided this had to change. So I began the Bible in One Year with Holy Trinity Brompton. I’m going to attempt to blog about it to get some accountability and also remind me to share anything that really touches or challenges me.

I started yesterday, and was astounded by one particular verse in Genesis 1 ‘He also made the stars’. It is almost blasĂ©, a second thought. And yet we know that there are billions of stars in loads of galaxies! I worship a God for whom galaxies of stars were created in the blink of an eye.

What is even more amazing, is that the God who created galaxies of stars and the universe we live in- not only created us, but loves and cares for us.

I think It’s a wonderful thought to start the year with and I can’t wait to discover, or rediscover more truths such as this.

One response to “Bible in One Year”

  1. So profound…a blink of an eye and bang the heavens are ablaze with stars.

I’ve started lots of bible reading plans and have read Genesis 1 more times than any other part of the Bible (!) and in my familiarity with that chapter I missed the awesomeness of this.

All the best with reading the Bible, and I look forward to seeing what amazing and wonderful things you discover.
