Rachael Newham

Today, I officially finished my time as Student Secretary. It has been roller-coaster of a year and I can honestly say that I am not the person I was when I took up the post a year ago. I have learned more than I thought possible about myself, community, leadership, but more importantly God.

I love that I have been able to serve the place I love! I’m feeling a little weird. For the past year I have been, ‘Rachael, Student Secretary’ and I am now back to just being Rachael. It’s a strange transition. I have fought back every instinct in me to take up another job and I am going to try, just being me. I know I’ll be busy – but I will no longer have a role to hide behind. I’m apprehensive, yes. But I’m also excited about what God is going to do with me, to me and (hopefully) through me. So, I’ve signed off as ‘Student Secretary’ for the last time, and I’m looking forward to what might come next!
